Homeschool Dance Tonight

At 9:40 a.m. the fog seems to have burned off on our hill – at 7:30, could not see the back of the house across the street. Thought at first that this would be a little quieter day, but don’t think so. Have a bunch of things to do around the house like yard work that I have been putting off for a while (like almost all winter). BTW, you may wonder if in SF Bay Area we really have winter – well, I consider anything below 40 very cold, and when the windshield on the car has ice…well. Tonight Karen is chaperone for a dance for our homeschool group – I’ll go with her. Kids are pretty good, and everybody knows everybody. Anyone bringing a “friend” usually makes sure that they get introduced around. Continued in I Peter 3 this morning, and verse 16 sticks out like a sore thumb – in a word, “why do things that give people ammunition to say bad things (slander) about you.” There were some other tidbits, but that says a lot. Our lives are seen by people, and when we do “wrong”, they see us as what we say we are (i.e.: Christians) and equate what we do with Christ. Check out “Barnes Notes” sometime on this verse. In a nutshell, Barnes says we need to train our conscience to know “right” from “wrong” so that we don’t just assume something and violate God’s law.
