Still Programming

Have been working on a way for me to update my blog from a web pages. Thought it would help me with what I was teaching in computer class (web page design). Finally, yesterday afternoon, worked out the last “kinks” in the program, and it seems to work pretty good.

Now just have to work on a few other things to fine-tune it, and will submit it as an add on the the published blog software so other people can have access to it.

Now back to my reading…

Home Again

After two nights in Doctor’s Medical Center, it will be great to sleep in my own bed tonight. Will get some much needed heat (boiler was broken at hospital) and more sleep. Sort of caught up on sleep. Got to spend Friday night in ER because there were no available beds, so they admitted me to ER.

Thought at first that it might be my heart acting up, but all the tests of enzymes came back negative, so now they have some more searching/tests to complete. At first, the blood work for enzymes was a breeze (had an IV they could draw blood through). But then, they called in a “blood drainer” (you know, like the people in the labs where you get your lab tests done.

OUCH! She could not find a vein, and finally changed arms (here comes the bruise). If I was a little rubber floating thing for your swimming safety, you would sink! Not looking forward to the next lab tech who wants to draw some blood.

One great thing was when I got wheeled down for an Echo Cardigram, the guy who came to get me turned out to be someone who attends Bay Hills. We did not know one another before this, but now Giovanni and I will watch for one another. Awesome how God puts us in places to share with one another.

Thanks for all those prayers.

Wisdom, Wisdom Everywhere…

Finished up James chapter 3 this morning. He talks about wisdom, and so I went to look up a definition. Took me on a wonderful(?) journey across the internet. Names like Socrates and Plato came up – have not really thought about those two since college. Then they dropped the names of others on me, along with their plays. More college memories.

Seems that Socrates was the first great philosopher. Now, the question is “was he?” He may have start the “Socratic Method” (look it up), but I seem to remember Job asking questions like Socrates talks about doing. Also seem to recall that “wisdom” was a thing discussed in the Old Testament – a thing to be desired. There is no confusion, probably just the fact that eventually the truth bursts forth.

Here in James, it seems clear to me that “wisdom” properly applied (lived) does not hurt others, but helps. It soothes, is full of mercy and helps to build up. It brings peace. Wisdom may be applied knowledge, but it is also applied truth – His truth.
