More Birds On The Way

The babies are feeding themselves, even though they still pester mom and dad for food. They are ready to fly away, and we will have to look up how to clip their wings. Paco and Taco are ready to go to their new homes. They are cute little guys (or gals) and do love to be held. But…there are now seven eggs in the nesting box, with six of them fertile. Not sure how we will take care of that crop of babies, but somehow, we will work with mom and dad to get them fed and on their way.

Yukkie Day…

Yesterday, tried to get the weeds to die with some weedkiller. Supposed to see results in 12 hours (“works in 24 hours”). They must not have tried this stuff on our weeds. Did not see any results, so reread the instructions. Yes, I mixed the chemical and water in the correct proportions. Even checked what I used for measuring, and it came in “right on”. OK…out with another batch, and resprayed, just in case spraying early in the morning did not work, what with all the dew on the weeds.

Weeds are like things in our lives. We keep trying to get rid of the bad/evil/wrong/feared things, and they keep coming back. Our efforts sometimes don’t even knock the thing out of the way – we keep dragging that whatever along with us as we continue to try getting it out of our lives. If it was our yard, we’d call in an “expert” (like a gardener or other helpful person) and let them clear the mess. As it is, we keep whacking away at the weeds, when all we have to do is turn them over to HIM.

Weeds, Weeds Everywhere

The “Sesame Street” song sort of comes to mind. Hasn’t been a lot of sun up in the sky. Once again, it’s a “say inside and read/write/study”. Oops, did I say “study”. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Also depends on what you are in the mood for. Did get a little studying done, but did not get enough help out of the book I was using. Need to find the info somewhere else, and then maybe it will be understandable enough that I can pass it on to my class.

Went to San Fran this morning, and that was a mess. Traffic (even at 10) was the “pits” Once we were on the Bay Bridge, it wasn’t too bad. Because we were running late, told Karen and the boys to sit back because I was going to be a cab driver again. Think Karen only grabbed for something once, but we made it to the appointed place by the rescheduled time.

Still working my way through James, and stuck right now in chapter 1. Eventually, there will come some words about it, but not right now.
